wow pvp player wow pve player

Who am I ?

I'm Trebonius, i've been playing WoW for 3 years.

What is the goal of that website ?

The goal of that website is to provide you PvE & PvP statistics as you have never seen before.

Where do those stats come from ?

Those stats come from an exploration of the World of Warcraft Official website (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/).

Has this website any link with Blizzard Entertainment ?

No.

How often do you gather those data ?

Those stats are gathered about every day.

What character sheets do you analyze ?

Every players from EU, US realms, with :

  • a 1800+ rating are analyzed (pvp)
  • at least 2 bosses killed in mythic mode (pve)

PvP

My character arena rating seems to be incorrect, why ?

We use your personnal rating in your arena team rather than your arena team rating.

What teams sheets do you analyze ?

Every teams from EU, US realms, with a 1800+ rating are analyzed.

Nevertheless, some teams are considered as "incorrect" teams, and they won't appear on the website (this can explain why some teams which are shown on other websites are not visible here).

Here are our rules :

  • We take into account characters which have a personnal rating close to the team rating (< 150). Then, if the team has enough correct players (at least 2 players for 2v2, 3 players for 3v3 ...), the team is taken into account.
  • If a team has enough correct players, the comp of that team is given by players who have played most matchs, (each player has to be above 1800 rating).
    Example :
    • If a 2v2 team has a warrior (rating : 2200, played : 300), a paladin (rating : 2200, played : 200) and a death knight (rating : 2200, played : 100), then the team is, for us, a war / pal team.
    • If a 2v2 team has a warrior (rating : 2200, played : 300), a paladin (rating : 2200, played : 200), a death knight (rating : 2200, played : 100) and a druid (rating : 1800, played : 400), then the team is, for us, a war / pal team.

Why doesn't my team appear ?

This must be because it is an "incorrect team" or because it is under 1800 rating. More informations.

Moreover, your team name may have some special caracters ("?", "/", ...). The wowarmory might bug when there are those characters in your name. Thus, your team can't be analyzed.

How is characters' score computed ?

The character PvP score is computed with the following formula :

Score = ArenaScore*5 + BGscore*3
where ArenaScore = (max(2v2_rating,5v5_rating) + 3v3_rating*2)/3 and BGscore = BG_rating

I just looked the glyphs page and the % sum isn't 100%, why ?

You can use 3 glyphs of each type, and the % are the % of players who take that glyph. Thus the sum hasn't to be 100%.

Example :

Let's imagine there are only 3 kinds of minor glyphs : glyph A, glyph B and glyph C, and that every players use those 3 glyphs.
You could think that the correct result is :
Glyph A 33.3%
Glyph B 33.3%
Glyph C 33.3%

Indeed, it is, but it is not what we are displaying.

We are displaying the ratio of players using that glyph.

Thus the displayed result is :

Glyph A 100%
Glyph B 100%
Glyph C 100%

Moreover, since some players don't use 3 glyphs, the sum isn't always 300%.

I just looked the professions page and the % sum isn't 100%, why ?

You can use 2 professions of each type, and the % are the % of players who take that profession. Thus the sum hasn't to be 100%.

Example :

Let's imagine there are only 2 kinds of professions :profession A, and profession B, and that every players use those 2 professions.
You could think that the correct result is :
profession A 50%
profession B 50%

Indeed, it is, but it is not what we are displaying.

We are displaying the ratio of players using that profession.

Thus the displayed result is :

profession A 100%
profession B 100%

I just looked the items page and the % sum of rings/trinkets isn't 100%, why ?

You can use 2 items of each type, and the % are the % of players who take that item. Thus the sum hasn't to be 100%.

Example :

Let's imagine there are only 2 kinds of items :item A, and item B, and that every players use those 2 items.
You could think that the correct result is :
item A 50%
item B 50%

Indeed, it is, but it is not what we are displaying.

We are displaying the ratio of players using that item.

Thus the displayed result is :

item A 100%
item B 100%

PvE

How is the PvE score of a guild computed ?

Each time a guild kills a new boss in mythic mode, the guild earn some points, depending on the boss and of the delay since this boss world first-kill.

The formula used is the following (for one boss) :
Score = BossValue / (1 + 2*min(180, days since world first kill of that boss)

The BossValue is 1000 for each boss except the last one of the current raid (its boss value is : 4000)

How is the PvE score of players computed ?

The players score is :

Score = NormalBossesScore + mythicBossesScore + ItemLvlScore + GuildScore

With :
NormalBossesScore = BossesKilledinNormalMode / NumberOfBossesInNormalMode * 1000
mythicBossesScore = BossesKilledInmythicMode / NumberOfBossesInmythicMode * 2000
ItemLvlScore = ItemLvL / 400 * 50
GuildScore = GuildScore / MaxGuildScore * 300

Global Stats

What are global Stat ?

Global Stats are Stats about all level 110 players, not only 2200+ or 4+/7 players.

How are computed Global Stats ?

Global Stats are computed using the methodology which is used for surveys, but on a larger amount of players, that’s why the accuracy is really good. (Look at Confidence Interval and all that stuff on Wikipedia if you want more informations…)

Are those stats accurate ?

Yes. Due to the huge amount of players we use to compute our stats, the accuracy is better than 0.1% in 99.9% of the cases.

How should I understand those stats ?

Let's discuss about PvP Players representation for instance.

You can’t use the representation % of players above 2200 rating to know whether a class is overpowered or not, because some classes are globally underplayed because they seem to be less fun. That does NOT mean that they are underpowered.

Nevertheless, you can use our new global stats to know, for instance, if a class is overpowered or underpowered.
Indeed, if there are 20% of druids above 2200 rating, but if globally they are 30% of players, they are UNDERrepresented above 2200 rating, which could mean that they are underpowered in PvP. If there are 20% of druids above 2200 rating, but if globally they are 10% of players, in that case, they are OVERrepresented above 2200 rating, which could mean that they are OVERpowered in PvP.

Of couse, you use the same reasoning for pve players, professions, races etc ...

Why do some quests/achievements appear twice ?

In fact, they have not the same ID, that's why they can't be considered as the same quest/achievement. They don't have that same id because, for instance, on is a quest for horde players, and the other one is for alliance players. Sometimes, different successives quests/achievements have the same ID. To know what the quest/achievement precisely is, you can click on it to go to WoWHead and to get a description.
